Swedish singer and revue actress, born July 4, 1899 in Släp, Halland, died October 18, 1985 in Tranemo, Västergötland. In 1920, Hillevi Stenhammar started at a student school with Per Lindberg at Lorensbergsteatern in Gothenburg. Five years later, she made her actual debut in Styrman Karlsson's flames, which was staged at Folkan in Gothenburg. There she played the role of "the cabin boy" and sang, among other things, Evert Taube's show Vals on board. Between 1926 and 1933 she was engaged as a revue artist with Karl Gerhard. Hillevi Stenhammar also toured with penny prints and other songs. Her repertoire included Carl Jonas Love Almqvist's song collection Songes. [3] She was also a gramophone artist and made a total of 17 recordings from 1926. In 1940 she appeared in the film Vi Masthuggspojkar. In addition, she was active as a radio artist, as she often performed sailor songs. From 1959 and eight years onwards, she participated in the program series Lite gammaldags. She married on 27 November 1926 in Stockholm with Sven Rolf Lindhé, then living in Västra Bodarna outside Alingsås. She continued to use the name Hillevi Stenhammar as an artist name. She was the daughter of the composer Wilhelm Stenhammar and sister of Claes Göran Stenhammar.
