Euclides Fagundes Filho, better known as Bagre Fagundes (Uruguaiana, October 3, 1939), is a Brazilian folklorist, instrumentalist, composer and singer of regional music from Rio Grande do Sul. Bagre Fagundes spent his childhood in the city of Alegrete. His nickname "Bagre" was given by his brother, João Batista, after fishing for a large catfish in the Ibirapuitã River. He began his musical career performing on programs on Rádio Cultura in São Borja. As a teenager, he bought a harmonica with four basses and 10 keys from his brother Aldo, with which, years later, he would compose Canto Alegretense, one of the most popular songs in Rio Grande do Sul.
