Monica Danielson

Swedish opera singer (mezzo-soprano), born May 16, 1968. She was educated at the Academy of Music at the University of Gothenburg 1989–1992 and at the then Opera Academy in Gothenburg (now the School of Stage and Music at the University of Gothenburg) 1992–1995. She has mainly made herself known as an interpreter of contemporary music by composers such as Pierre Boulez, Benjamin Britten, Peter Maxwell Davies, Arnold Schönberg, Lars Johan Werle, Luciano Berio, Karin Rehnqvist, John Cage, and more. She was awarded the Swedish Composers' Interpreter Prize in 2010 and the Carin Malmlöf-Forssling Prize in 2013. In 2014, she was elected a member of the Royal Academy of Music.
