Петр Никитин

1907-1973 Musician, accompanist. In the 20-30s he played in the Orchestra of Folk Instruments under the direction of P. Alekseev, on the domra, balalaika, button accordion, author of transcriptions for the folk orchestra of works by Tchaikovsky, Arensky, Grieg, Rimsky-Korsakov. After graduating from the Moscow Conservatory (piano department), he became an accompanist at the All-Union Radio. During the Great Patriotic War - at the fronts, commander of a machine gun platoon. He was seriously wounded in his right hand, had long and painful treatment for his hand, and was eventually able to perform as an accompanist on the radio again. Since 1947 he accompanied Ivan Kozlovsky, working with him for more than 25 years.
