Denny Storey

Born October 31, 1943 in Spencer, Iowa. At the age of fourteen, Denny started a band which was the beginning of a lifelong music career. Denny sang and played guitar with The Runaways, which was formerly Dee Jay and the Runaways and was started in the early 60s. The band had a national hit, “Peter Rabbit”, in 1966. They played and entertained audiences throughout Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa. They traveled to Canada as well as to the east and west coasts. While on the east coast, Denny performed on the T.V. show “Where the Action Is”. D.J. and the Runaways played on the U.S.S. Forrestal, entertaining U.S. troops. Denny Storey died September 13, 2018 in Dickens, Iowa.
