Hilding Slut

Sven Hedman was a SÄMUS student. He did an internship at Ekebäcksskolan in Västra Frölunda in 1974. He trained as a two-subject teacher at Sämus, in Music and Swedish. He could focus on what he was most interested in, to compose and arrange. After the education, he moved to Västerås and start as a music teacher in Tillberga. He worked there for three years and then for five years in Surahammar, when I moved there. He quit as a music teacher because he wanted to be able to play more for myself. His main job for several years was to travel around schools and teach South African freedom songs and to inform and engage about apartheid. In the 90's he did musical theater of the Pettson books and played them with the group Bröderna Slut for many years. He still travels around the country with a program called "Sing with Pettson and Findus". With his artist name "Hilding Slut" he is a member of Bröderna Slut from Surahammar. They called themselves Harald, Hilding, Äland, Eskil and Sigge and claimed that they were biological brothers between 18 and 48 years old. - Before Our Lord we are all brothers, said "Hilding" in an interview with DN's Sanna Hellberg in October 1998. Someone told him he looked like Gubben Pettson when he appeared as Hilding Slut, unshaven and miserable. At the time, he did not know what "Pettson" was, admits Sven Hedman, the only one of the group's original members left today. But after reading Sven Nordqvist's books, he got stuck. With Bröderna Slut he toured all over Sweden with the musical versions of the characters from the books.
