'Handsome' Steve Miller (not to be confused with that OTHER Steve Miller) is an Australian musician, vocalist, raconteur, bar owner and personality. He grew up in the small South Australian town of Mount Gambier (known primarily as being a comfort stop between Melbourne and Adelaide or Adelaide and Melbourne). Miller moved to Adelaide along with friend and bandmate Dave Graney, where they released a single as Sputniks before moving again to Melbourne with The Moodists, eventually trying their luck in the UK. Upon returning to Australia, Miller dipped into the world of hospitality, with a string of idiosyncratic bars, tour managing, and co-ran the record label W.Minc Productions Records. He has also guested on a number of records by his contemporary artists. More recently he has returned to the live music world with his combo, logically but a bit cheekily named The Steve Miller Band (no, not Steve Miller Band, as confusing as that may indeed be), also known by the acronym The SMB.
