American Composer. Born 1922 in Philadelphia. Studied composition at Harvard with Walter Piston and Irving Fine, and also with Aaron Copland and Nadia Boulanger. Taught at the Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. Served in the U.S. Army in Europe 1943-47 during which time he wrote "And the Bombers Went Home, for violin and piano." Died 1999.
