Stefana Chitta

Pianist The Austrian pianist of Romanian descent, Stefana Chitta-Stegemann (*12.11.1962) began her pianistic education in Bucharest. After graduating from school as the best absolvent and with the 1st prize, she first studied piano in Vienna with Gabriele Riedel. She took her diploma as piano teacher with distinction. At the same time she absolved a conducting seminar at the Vienna Conservatory. She continued her studies in Amsterdam at the Sweelinck Conservatory with Willem Brons (pianist diploma) and in Karlsruhe at the High School for Music with Sontraud Speidel, where she took her diploma as concert pianist with distinction. She rounded off her artistic development through participation in Master Classes with Hans Leygraf, Vitaly Margulis, György Sebök, Rudolf Kehrer. She gave numerous concerts in Romania, Austria, ex Yugoslavia, Germany, Holland, France, Spain and Italy. She is prize winner of national and international competitions, for example the Franz Liszt Competition in Lucca, the Eduard Flipse Concours in Rotterdam and of the High School competition of all German High Schools of Music.
