Vocalist - Composer Not to be confused with María José Pérez other flamenco and vocalist artist from Spain. Maria Pérez was born in Almendralejo, Spain. She grew up surrounded by gipsy families for whom Flamenco is a way of living. Her passion for singing since early age made her popular in her area where her father would take her to sing on summer festivals around her village. In 1994, Maria moved to London. Since then she has been performing with different bands of Flamenco, Latin and Middle Eastern music and collaborating in Modern World Music. Maria’s powerful voice is passionate and attractive, romantic and charming. Her ability to sing different styles and her strong projection reaches every one.
