Laurel Mydock

Originally from Kansas City, MO, Laurel Mydock relocated to the St. Louis metro area in the late '90s to attend Lindenwood University. While at Lindenwood, she played bass for the late Maplewood-based punk trio ResistAll. In 2006, Mydock played lead guitar for The Downcasts, a short-lived garage band that included former members of Long John Thomas and the Duffs, The Honkeys, and The Argonauts. After The Downcasts ended, she established The 75s with former Downcasts bandmate and future husband Scott Lasser in 2007. Mydock current plays guitar in Thee Have Loves, a garage band, which she helped form in 2012. Originally an art major at Lindenwood, Mydock switched to mathematics and earned her bachelor's degree in 2003. In 2004, she entered graduate school at the Univeristy of Missouri-St. Louis and earned her Ph.D in chemistry in 2010.
