Jerry Lestock McKenzie

Drummer with Stan Kenton Orchestra and other groups. Born as Jerry Lestock changed surname after the divorce of his parents to ---> McKenzie (maiden name of his mother). He followed the other Jerry McKenzie (as mentioned in M. Sparke/P. Venudor "Stan Kenton" - The Studio Sessions p.140) first time on the the Universal Studio session for the Capitol label on March 31, 1959. McKenzie, based in Detroit, was Kenton's regular drummer from 1959 to 1962 and again in 1972. During that tenure, he recorded two Grammy-winning albums. Please do not use as alias or ANV for Jerry McKenzie I (in Kenton's orchestra from June 1957 to February 1959). All submissions with credits for McKenzie I and McKenzie II (= LeStock) have been checked, splitted and linked to the correct artist.
