Mary Anne Jackson

Mary Anne Jackson was a pseudonym used by Steve Allen (3) (born December 26, 1921, New York City, New York, USA - died October 30, 2000, Los Angeles, California, USA) an American composer, pianist, comedian and television talk show host. Mary Anne Jackson was a hoax staged by Allen, who according to the liner notes for The Wild Piano Of Mary Anne Jackson was an African-American pianist and composer who performed with "bold authority". The photograph of Mary Anne Jackson used on the album was in fact a former housekeeper of Allen's named Mary Sears.
