Raimo Pihl

Swedish former athlete of Finnish descent competing in the javelin throw, pentathlon & decathlon events. He was born on October 28, 1949 in Soudenniemi, Pirkanmaa region, a part of the former Turku and Pori Province, Finland. His parents had left Finland and moved to Sweden when he still was three years old. Raimo Pihl competed for Sweden in decathlon at the 1976 summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He reached fourth place at that competition and then missing the Olympic bronze medal. His wife, Helena Pihl, is also a former olympian in athletics but that was at the 1980 summer Olympics in Moscow, USSR.
