Swedish politician, principal, songwriter and lyricist, born July 18, 1956 in Johanneberg in Gothenburg. Among other things, Wendt has had success with winning entries in Melodifestivalen 1987, when Lotta Engberg won with the song (Fyra Bugg & en Coca Cola) and Melodifestivalen 1990 when Edin-Ådahl won with the song Som en vind. He was last seen as a producer in the Melodifestival context when Charlotte Nilsson won in 1999 and also took home the victory with "Tusen och en natt" in the Eurovision Song Contest 1999, then in English as "Take Me to Your Heaven". Wendt studied at the University of Gothenburg and is a trained music teacher, but began to devote himself more and more to music. During this time he played, among other things, in Lotta & Anders Engberg's orchestra. In the mid-1980s, he also started writing music together with Christer Lundh, a collaboration that led to several placements on the Svensktoppen. Several of Lotta Engberg's songs, among others, have been written by Mikael Wendt and Christer Lundh. In the early 1990s, Wendt ended his touring life and worked increasingly as a composer and later also as a producer. Among the artists he produced are Vikingarna, Thorleifs and an early Peter Jöback. Together with Christer Lundh, Wendt became a SKAP scholarship holder in 1994.
