Rudolf Schwarzkogler

Austrian performance artist, born 13 November 1940 in Vienna, Austria. He was a member of the Vienniese Actionists, alongside Hermann Nitsch, Otto Muehl and Günter Brus. Unlike the others, most of Schwarzkogler's aktions were private performances for the camera, and featured his assistant, not himself. Though rumor has it that he killed himself through repeated acts of self mutilation, the truth was that he walked out of a second story window and fell to his death on 20 June 1969 in Vienna, Austria.
