Daniel Amalm (born 16 February 1979 in Brisbane, Queensland) is an Australian Actor and Musician. Daniel's mother is Maltese and his father is Swedish. Amalm first became known in Australia and Europe as an Actor playing the role of Jack Wilson in Home and Away. Prior to Daniel's days on screen he won a scholarship to study guitar at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and was trained in classical guitar under Julian Byzantine. Daniel received runner up in the 9th Australian Classical Spanish Guitar Competition. In 1996, Amalm left Home and Away and recorded a single 'Classical Gas' which was a top 30 hit on the ARIA Charts and No.5 on the Dance Charts followed by 'Honey Dip Girl' which was voted No.1 on Network 10's Video Hits for 5 consecutive weeks. Daniel changed his direction in music for an alternative heavy rock/rap sound with band OP25. Daniel's Brother Jacob plays drums in OP25 and have supported the likes of KRAM from Spiderbait and Butterfingers. OP25 also contributed to the original motion picture soundtrack of 'Two Fists One Heart' with a song called 'Like No Other' Amalm continues to juggle a music career with Acting with his latest television appearance portraying deceased Melbourne underworld figure, Dino Dibra in Underbelly as well as starring in the Australian film Two Fists, One Heart and Cedar Boys. Daniel also performs in a Classical Flamenco Guitar Duo with his Brother Jacob called The Amalm Brothers.
