Peter Smith (40)

British tuba classical player. Born in Oldham, England. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music. He first worked on a freelance basis with many orchestras and ensembles such as the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, London Brass, the London Sinfonietta and The London Symphony Orchestra. He has been Principal Tuba of the Philharmonia Orchestra since May 2008. He is also co-founder of the Alberti Brass Quintet and the Philharmonia Brass. Professor of Tuba at the Royal College of Music, London.
