Canadian dance orchestra. The orchestra was lead by American emigrated brothers Andy Tipaldi (banjo) and John Tipaldi (violin). The brothers joined the group in 1919 and took over the management of the ensemble in 1923. They then began recording for the Montréal company His Master’s Voice for the Starr label. The Melody Kings disbanded in 1928. Other members included pianist Billy Munro, drummer Rob Roy, trombonist Al Gagnon, trumpeters Harry Louci, Rip Doucette and Robert Rochon, and saxophonists Léo Dufault and Alex Lajoie.
