Dave Karwowski

Hailing from Kitchener, Ontario, CA, Dave Karwowski began producing techno in 2001, after being a dedicated DJ for 12 years. Having been influenced by the so-called golden years of techno (mid 90's to early 2000's) his sound was influenced by early Marco Carola/Adam Beyer/Joel Mull etc. and being afforded opportunities to play at many venues with such luminaries of the techno scene, had an effect on his path of production and DJing. Exploring both the pounding style and deeper flavours that were a steady contrast with many artists of that time, he gained an appreciation for both approaches to the dancefloor. More influences that left a deeper impact came later in the 2000's in the form of Deepchord/Maurizio/Basic Channel and others in the dubtechno arena. His current moniker is lotech/hijack and is focused on dubtechno and the deeper sounds of techno. He also produces ambient under the alias Rysy.
