Chinese classical pianist, born 1973 in Wuhan, China. Sun has lived in the United States since 1991 when she moved there to study at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is married to the Swedish pianist Per Tengstrand and the two spouses have often given concerts together. Shan-shan Sun has won prizes in the American competitions Darius Milhaud Competition, Nina Wideman Piano Competition and South Orange Symphony Artist Competition. Together with her husband Per Tengstrand, she won first prize in the Murray Dranoff International Two Piano Competition in 2003.
