Zion High Foundation

Based in Lyon and active locally since 1996, the collective was officially structured in 2005 to offer an explosive and cleverly orchestrated cocktail of Jamaican music. On stage the crew is made up of 2 people: Mika the MC ('Master of Ceremony' = microphone host) and Dj Kunta the 'selector' (= DJ) (possibility of combining with singers: see below) The culture of vinyl and sound system has been anchored since their youngest years as Kunta begins his collection of Jamaican vinyl records at the age of 11! They have since established themselves as an essential sound system on the French scene with more than 300 scenes alone in recent years where they have performed with Soom T, General Levy, Solo Banton, Skarra Mucci, Chukky Star, El Fata, Aplheus , Deadly Hunta, Murray Man, Yaniss Odua, Keefaz, Little Dany, Mr Lézard, Daddy Yod, Tonton David, Clive Chin ... Independent by conviction, they do not remain on the fringes of institutions and benefit from the recognition and support of the City of Lyon for offering in the city center since 2007 the 'Jamaican Music Festival'; a collective event in the streets of Lyon which brings together several thousand people each year. Superactive with their store and label Livity Reggae, they have achieved international recognition through their collaborations with artists like Little Kirk, Soom T, Trevor Junior, Fred Cash, Ackie and more recently with the VP label for titles by Garnet Silk and Sugar Minott but also thanks to the quality and responsiveness of their work to find the right records, bring the artists back to their studio (https://www.youtube.com/c/DonKunta/videos) and offer a wide selection of cultural products in their store (books, DVDs, crafts, clothing, tam, caps, natural incense ...).
