Canadian (Québec) singer, impresario and cabaret host (born April 1933, died April 13 (or 14), 2003 (age 70) at Notre-Dame Hospital in Montréal following a stroke). He made his debut as a singer in the cabarets of Montréal in 1950. In 1954, he took the name of "Jean Simon" at La Casa Loma where he presented his "Discoveries" for more than 15 years then at the Le Café Provincial, at the Café De L'Est and at l’Hôtel Aviation. During this period, he presented no less than 10,000 amateurs who came from all over Quebec and Ontario. He was thus at the origin of the careers of singers like Ginette Reno (of whom he was the impresario for six years), Shirley Théroux, Guy Boucher, Robert Demontigny, Serge Laprade, Jacques Michel, Martine St-Clair, Martin Stevens, Serge Laprade, Julie Arel, France Castel, Pière Senécal, Les Baronets and Anne Renée, to name a few. He ended his career as a talent scout in 1987 to become the impresario for actress Rose Ouellette (La Poune), then public relations officer for his great friend Muriel Millard.
