Об исполнителе:
Dutch multistylistic contemporary music trio founded in 2013 by composer, microtonalist, guitarist and instrument builder Aart Strootman. TEMKO blends the broadest and most diverse genre palette, ranging from modern classical to minimal music and ambient electronica, progressive rock, jazz, free improv, and many more. The ensemble often modifies or builds new custom instruments. For instance, TEMKO became the first contemporary music group to perform Terry Riley's Shri Camel in just intonation without the use of synthesizers, earning compliments from the composer. TEMKO debuted at November Music festival in 2013, with performances on Dutch national TV VPRO Vrije Geluiden soon following, as well as residencies at Paradox Tilburg and Intro · In Situ in Maastricht. The trio has performed at many prestigious concert venues, including Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and De Doelen in Rotterdam. The group is named after Florence Maria Temko (1921—2009), a pioneering origami artist from the United States, quoted on TEMKO's official website as "known for her transparent but challenging constructions and small, exciting thoughts that never really get ungraspable."
