The Lane Sisters

American actresses and singers sibling group. Comprised of Leota Lane (October 25, 1903 – July 25, 1963), Lola Lane (May 21, 1906 – June 22, 1981), Rosemary Lane (April 4, 1913 – November 25, 1974) and Priscilla Lane (June 12, 1915 – April 4, 1995). All four of the sisters sand in Fred Waring's Glee Club on his radio program. Actress Gale Page (July 23, 1913 – January 8, 1983) played the fourth sister (rather than Leota Lane) in a series of Warner Bros. films with the other Lane sisters in Four Daughters (1938), Daughtes Courageous (1939), Four Wives (1939), and Four Mothers (1941). Leota, afer studying at the Simpson College Conservatory and Juilliard, excelled at more classical and opera singing and had her success earlier on stage and did not find the same success as her sisters in film and left Hollywood for New York City before the sisters' breakthrough.
