Dieter Bauknecht

Bauknecht started his musical experiments in 1967 from his Cafe Ufo studios in Vaals, Holland (together with his brother and his girlfriend Elisabeth Wurst). His early compositions range from commercials (Chocomel 1967, unreleased) to whole super-8 operas. In 1970 he toured the world with his brother Karl Heinz Bauknecht as "The Bauknechts". Although rumour has it that Dieter died in a carcrash in july 1977, some people are sure he created on of the most important german experimental groups: "MIESES GEGONGE" in the mid 80s and produced the seminal "ABWASSERMUSIK" Lp with H.N.A.S. in 1985. In 2002 german DOM ELCHKLANG label started a CD re-issue series of Bauknecht's outstanding early solo compositions.
