Us Two And Him is a bluegrass trio from Chapel Hill, TN. Organized in 1972 by Johnny Rickman, Jimmy Rickman, and Phil Comstock. The group first sang together at MTSU with Mike Wilson originally in Phil’s place. Johnny would play the guitar and wrote almost all of their songs, Jimmy played the upright bass and was the comedian of the group, and Phil played the guitar and was the spokesman. All three would sing the lead vocals but they also did a lot of three part harmony. Their first performance was at Henry Horton State Park in 1972 and starting getting attention quickly. Tennessee Farm Bureau became their advocates and they began singing and playing at a lot of civic events in Fayetteville, Tennessee. They were invited to sing at the National Farm Bureau Convention in Atlantic City, NJ and attended the event with the help of Murray Miles. They later sang on the Grand Ole Opry and met Roy Acuff. They also had their music played on WSM-TV radio. Norm Ray helped them get on “Nashville Now” in 1985. They also later became regulars on the “Ralph Emery Show” for 13 years and sang an original song for him called “Hey Ralph.” During their time together, they have released 4 albums and 2 compilation CDs and have travelled all over the country. Today, they are still active after 51 years.
