The Troubadours male choir was founded in 1933, in Enschede, a town in eastern Holland, as a group of 8 singers. Their number was later increased to 12 and today has grown to 20 men one of whom has been with the choir since its foundation more than 40 years ago. The choir's skill is of such a high standard that it has often been suggested that there were a number of professionals among its members, but everyone, including the conductor, Henny Aldenkamp refuses to be considered other than amateurs.
