Soprano vocalist and radio star, originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland In 1922 Jamison's family immigrated to Canada and settled in Guelph. She studied at the Toronto Conservatory of Music, and spent two years in London, England, studying singing. After returning to Canada, Jamison began singing on radio in Toronto and was invited to New York City where the NBC network signed her to perform on its Hollywood Hotel program. In 1933, she sang for such radio programs as The Wrigley Hour and The Nielson Hour, and in 1935 she headed to Hollywood to work on a radio show hosted by Dick Powell (2), where she sang with such names as Frances Langford and Nelson Eddy. She also became a member of the San Francisco Opera Company, singing on the stages of San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York.
