Composer, singer, one of the genuine exponent of the joropo tuyero style. Mario Díaz was born in Miranda state, Venezuela, on October 22, 1942. Díaz began his musical career when he was sixteen years old, following the steps of his father José Antonio Aponte, a popular singer known as "El Viejo Joso". Díaz started to compose when he was fithteen years old, until today he has written centenars of songs, between the most famous are: El Ermitaño, La Resbalosa, El Cazador, La Negra, El Campo es Un Paraíso, and many others. Mario Díaz also worked as comedian at famous venezuelan TV show "Radio Rochela". Mario Díaz has gotten many recognition along his career, we can refer to: winner as composer on "Festichamo", a national festival of creole music promoted by Simon Diaz, to estimulate children to love venezuelan folklore music, also received a title of Honorific Master given by Universidad Nacional de Las Artes (UNEARTE).
