The Mystics (20)

1960s group from Louisville, Kentucky. Formed by Dewey Hampton (Vocal), Diane Kirchner (Vocal), Carl Eckfoff (Keyboards), Vic Hayden (Vocal), Jim Lindell (Guitar), Buddy Carter (Bass Guitar), and Benny Devine (Drums). The band was formed in 1962 and were very locally popular with their one record. They played back up to Little Anthony & The Imperials, Brenda Lee & The Drifters. also singing in live acts with Roy Orbison, Ben E. King & Jerry Lee Lewis. In 1968 they changed their name to The Single Swingers but Jim Lindell's brother, Steve, formed another Mystic's group and recorded the songs What About Our Love & Ragtime on the Trump label.
