Klaus Von Wrochem

German politically active singer/songwriter and classically trained violinist, born 20 January 1940 in Dippoldiswalde, Germany, based in Cologne, Germany. He is one of the most famous street-musicians in Germany. He studied in Cologne, worked as a professional violinist, later he received a grant and went to Buffalo and San Diego, where he participated in Pauline Oliveros' class for 'Composition of the Avantgarde'. He returned to Germany in 1970 and, influenced by the hippie movement, dropped out of the academic music circles and started using the name Klaus Der Geiger.
