Joe Rivas is a punk rock/hardcore singer/song writer/guitarist from Oxnard, Ca. Joe has been active in the Nard Core scene since the mid 80's, as a roadie for local bands such as Agression, Ill Repute and Disordered Youth. He joined his first band, Dignity, in 1988. Dignity, which evolved into Burning Dog. In the early 90's e played bass in a female fronted band called Vermicious Kinids (Ventura Ca), whiched released two demo tapes. Burning Dog also released 3 demo tapes, and were eventually signed to Edge Records, where they re-mixed their first demo and released that on a pink 7" called "Psycho Babble Ology" in 1996. In 1997 they released the "Last Days" CD in Edge. In 1999 they self released "Ok...But this time with feeling". Also in the 90's Joe joined Ill Repute on 2nd guitar and recorded on their album, "And Now...". Also in the late 90's, Joe played guitar in a melodic hardcore band called 7DayWar which released a 5 song demo tape. During the late 90-'s Joe also started a recording studio called "The Ghost Chamber" and learned the music production craft. Joe helped produce the album "Powers That Be" by The Missing 23rd, assisted also on the band, In Control, demo (that was recently pressed on vinyl as part of the "Nard Curse LP" and many other projects. In the late 00's Joe rejoined his old friends and started a new group called Out of Trust. They released an 7 song EP (CD) on their own called "Healthy, Loud and Honest" in 2012. In May 2020 they released a 5 song EP (digital only on bandcamp and other digital platforms) called "Idiocracy". Joe continues to play, produce and be very involved in his local scene, Nard Core, most recently by being a regular guest on the 185 Miles South pod cast.
