Grant O'Brien

Grant O'Brien (b. 12 June 1940, Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian musicologist, harpsichord builder and restorer, and educator. He taught at University of Edinburgh from 2002 until May 2004 and has served as Professor of Restoration and Conservation of Keyboard Instruments at Università Degli Studi Di Pavia in Italy since 2017. O'Brien graduated from the University of Alberta at Edmonton in 1962 with his B.Sc. degree in physics, followed by a Master's in nuclear physics in 1966. Grant earned his Ph.D. in organology at the University of Edinburgh in 1983.
