Matilda Sterby

Swedish soprano vocalist living in Malmö, born on March 25, 1991 in Stockholm. She graduated from the Academy of Opera in Stockholm in the spring of 2019. Before that, she received her education at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Kunsthøgskolen in Oslo. Matilda debuted as Contessa Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro at Läckö Castle in 2019, since then she has, among other things, sang at Staatsoper Hannover, Gothenburg Opera and Badisches Staatstheater. In the fall of 2023, Matilda will sing Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at Malmö Opera and in the spring of 2024, Magda is waiting in La Rondine at the Wiener Volksoper. In 2022, she was awarded first prize in the Hjördis Schymberg Award competition for young Nordic opera singers.
