Bill Shepherd (2)

1920s country blues artist. Not to be confused with William Shepherd (jazz trombonist), Bill Sheppard (funk-soul producer) or Bill Shepherd (Bee Gees arranger). Brother of Hayes Shepherd and Hence Shepherd. The Shepherd brothers lived in Jenkins, Kentucky and between them recorded ten records for the local Lonesome Ace label. Only two of these records were issued. It has been said that Bill Shepherd's singing was strikingly suggestive of Bill Monroe's singing of a decade later.
