Lars ‘Lati’ Kronlund is a Swedish songwriter, music producer, musician. He is the founder (with producer Arthur Baker) of the group Brooklyn Funk Essentials, and only remaining member since the debut album. He has produced all of the groups six studio albums and been their principal song writer. He is also the band’s bass player. Kronlund started his career in his native Stockholm, where he formed the band Zzzang Tumb in 1983. He was the band’s leader, bass player and principal song writer. He also played with Swedish bands Reeperbahn, JAPOP, The Leather Nun, Di Leva, Army Of Lovers and Heinz & Young before moving to London in 1984. He was the writer and producer of Alison Limerick’s house single Where Love Lives. He also wrote and produced for artists such as Londonbeat (Anxious), The Pasadenas (SONY) and Perception (Talking Loud). In 1992, Kronlund relocated to New York where he worked with Arthur Baker at his Shakedown Sound studios on projects such as The Jackie Hustle (Arista 1992) by Jackie MCs (with Johnny Dynell) and Al Green’s Don’t Look Back album (BMG 1993) before starting the Brooklyn Funk Essentials project. He co-wrote Whadda U Want (From Me) (Virgin 1995) for Frankie Knuckles & Adeva and co-produced If You Could Read Me Mind (Tommy Boy 1998) for Stars On 54. Kronlund also wrote and produced five songs on the album Kenza by Khaled (Barclay 1999), produced and wrote for Ayala - On My Way (2013).
