Morgan Nicolaysen

Morgan is a Norwegian mastering engineer, based in Oslo, Norway. With a background as a classically trained trumpet player, Morgan brought his dedication to classical music and acoustic jazz into the recording studio during his high school years. After studies with the world renowned engineer Bruce Swedien, he started working as a full time mastering engineer in 2004 at the age of 21. With 20 years of experience, several multiple platinum recordings and with Norwegian Grammy awards within almost all genres, he has wide experience covering everything from classical (Oslo Philharmonic, The Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Norwegian Broadcast Orchestra, Barrokanerne), jazz, soundtracks to folk, pop and rock. His clients range from major labels as Universal Music, Sony Music, Warner Music to specialized labels as ACT Music, Jazzland Recordings, Rune Grammofon to name a few. From 2009 to 2022, he was part of the Propeller Mastering team - 2019 to 2022 as chief engineer. In 2022 Morgan started his own studio business under his own name.
