Erik Strömblad (2)

Swedish bassoonist, born 28 January 1892 in Värnamo parish, Jönköping county, died 30 March 1958 in Hedvig Eleonora parish, Stockholm. He studied at the Conservatory of Music in Stockholm 1908–1914, was the first bassoonist in the Stockholm Concert Association 1914–1919 and in the Royal Court Chapel from 1928. He was a teacher at the Stockholm Academy of Music from 1928. He was a soloist in the Concert Association and the country, also on the radio, and chamber musicians, including in the Kjellströmkvartetten. He was elected an associate of the Royal Academy of Music in 1938 and was awarded the name of professor in 1956.
