Swedish music director and composer, for about forty years active in Norrköping, born September 3, 1902 in Norrköping, died March 12, 1978 in Norrköping. He was a student of Otto Olsson and his musical career began as a violinist in the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, but from 1929-1968 he worked as music director in Matthew's Church in Norrköping. He also led preparatory courses for cantor degrees. Taught as an educator in organ playing, piano playing, singing and harmony. Several of his students have become famous musicians, for example Professor Ralph Gustafsson and Professor Hans Fagius. He has been a teacher of composition for the composer Lars-Åke Franke-Blom. Nils Eriksson's foremost compositions include an orchestral work entitled Shanghai, which has been performed several times by the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and in SR. He also composed organ music, music for various solo instruments, Swedish fair and choir music.
