Flávia Camargo Toni

Master (1985) and PhD (1989) in Arts, is a Free Professor (2004) and Full Professor (2009) at the University of São Paulo (USP). Researcher at the Institute of Brazilian Studies, where she was President and Coordinator of the Brazilian Cultures and Identities Program between 2010 and 2014, she also supervises postgraduate studies in Musicology at the Department of Music (CMU) at the School of Communications and Arts (USP). Before joining the University, as a researcher at the São Paulo Cultural Center, she processed and described the entire collection constituted by the Folklore Research Mission, working, from the 1990s, on the restoration and preservation of the Collection. In Musicology, he has worked with an emphasis on issues from the first half of the 20th century, working mainly on the following themes: the musical literature of Mário de Andrade, Modernism and Music, Camargo Guarnieri: life and work, Ethnomusicology, Research Methodology in Music. She was on the Editorial Board of the IEB Magazine between 2017 and 2018 and was deputy director of the institution between November 2018 and July 2022.
