Dave Mandel (yes, that's me!) is a recording artist, songwriter, composer [ASCAP], arranger,and musician. I have participated in significant music and social events since the mid-1960s such as the Free Speech Movement (and the creation of its "Sounds & Songs of the Demonstration" album and "Christmas Carols" 45), the 1969 Toronto Pop Festival and Toronto Rock n' Roll Revival, am the founder and sole owner of Stony Broke Music and Stony Broke Records [Reg'd. Trademarks] and Hardup Press -- all based in El Cerrito, California --, and have recorded the two original-song CDs [2011's "Dave Mandel REALTIME" and the 2020 release, "Dave Mandel NEXT DOOR"]. I call myself a "hippie bum," but am also a published author and have been a senior city planner, landscape architect, university teacher of landscape architecture and design, landscape & irrigation contractor, truck driver, cook, dishwasher and ditch-digger. Yes: I may be an "old guy" -- but listen to me rock!
