Luke Dahn (b. 1976) is an American composer, music theorist, visiting assistant professor at the University of Utah, and co-founder of the Ensemble Périphérie. He received a BMus degree from the Houston Baptist University in 2000 and continued his studies in composition with C. Curtis-Smith at the Western Michigan University, graduating with MMus degree in 2003. Dahn was David Gompper's postgraduate student at the University of Iowa, where he received a Ph.D. degree in 2006 and worked as a visiting assistant professor. From 2007 to 2015, Luke Dahn had been teaching music theory and composition at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa (a Department Chair since 2011). Some of his notable works include (Ex)changing (Ex)tracts, which Wolfgang David (violin) and David Gompper (piano) performed multiple times in the United States and Europe in 2007–08. Luke also received a grant from Northwestern College to participate in a recording project at the Moscow Conservatory in 2008.
