Juan "Jajo" Mauri-Vera (1969-1997) R.I.P. Jajo (pronounced Ha-Ho) was originally from Mallorca, Spain. In the 1980's, He began playing records at various clubs throughout Mallorca, mostly hit radio songs of the 80's. Jajo then started building a collection of house, trance & techno, which He then began playing out. In the early 1990's, Jajo moved to the U.S. to attend college at Saint Louis University (SLU) in Missouri. There He got to know two other like minded DJ's, Terry Mullan & Joel Sansone, DJ Name: Merlin, & the three of them formed, "The Saint Louis Vibe Tribe". Terry & Joel were already promoters who threw, "Raves" & "Afterhour" party's under the names, Mr. Ephedrine & Merlin. They then had Jajo play at almost every event they put on. In 1993, Jajo received a residency at club, "Fallout" on Tuesday called, "Drop" that ran into the later part of 1994. In February of 1995, Jajo teamed up with one of His closest friends & fellow DJ, Chuck A. Epperson, DJ Name: The Professor (20) & the two of them became the new promoters of, "The Solution To Boring Wednesdays" at club, "Fallout". They each played 2 one hour sets, & featured a weekly guest DJ of both local & national talent. In the early part of 1996, "Fallout" closed it doors for good. The owner had purchased another building & opened up club, "Hyperspace". Jajo received Tuesday nights & had a residency there. The club closed before the end of the year, due to being sold shortly after opening to bad management. In mid 1996, Jajo then received a residency at club, "Quazar". Jajo had now played at clubs & "Raves" throughout the U.S. & had held many local residency's. Tragically, in the early part of 1997, Jajo died of an accidental overdose. The St. Louis scene suffered another serious wound & would never be the same after loosing such an incredible talent...
