Don Wayne was born in the UK. He was involved with Vic Gargano and they formed Inferno Records in September 1950. He was one of the owners of Indigo Records (4) which was located at 3330 Barham Boulevard, Hollywood, California. The label which was formed in 1960 wasn't doing too well. He felt that it would be an idea to take a break. As he was in contact with Jack Rael, he discovered that the road manager for The Everly Bro's wasn't available and that they were heading to Canada. Having never visited Canada he thought it would be a good idea to take a vacation. He thought that he'd get a couple of weeks work, see Canada and come back and carry on with the record co. He got on well with them and the couple of weeks turned into nine years. It was around 1965 while still working as the road manager for The Everly Bro's that through a friend Bob Field (4) that he became involved in the production of a recording by The Scuzzies, recording a song written by Suzie Cappetta. Using Cinnamon Cinder club band, The Vibrants (6) via Bob Eubanks as the backing band, Wayne and Field produced the single "Dave Hull The Hullabalooer" bw " Our Favorite D.J." . The single was released on Field's CRS Records (8) label. The song which was about radio D.J. Dave Hull (3) became a local Top 40 hit. According to some sources, Wayne's association with the Everly Brothers ended in 1973. ====================================================================== Referenced from * Gargano's Garage Lavendar, Magenta, Indigo & Blue Fin http://numerogroup.com/products/garganos-garage-lavendar-magenta-indigo-blue-fin * EVERLYPEDIA Page 98 http://www.hillmanweb.com/everly/refs/everlypedia4.pdf * KRLA Beat blog http://krlabeat.sakionline.net/blog.html *45Cat, The Scuzzies With The Vibrants http://www.45cat.com/record/crs1110 * Everly Facts, Manaagers: http://www.everly.net/file/fact/facts.htm
