James Ellison (2)

American actor, singer and dancer. Born May 4, 1910 in Guthrie Center, Iowa, USA. Died December 23, 1993 (83 years of age) in Montecito, California, USA. He acted primarily in Westerns. However, he is perhaps best remembered for being Hopalong Cassidy's first and most dominant sidekick. Circa 1952, Ellison left the acting profession and became a success in California real estate and contracting/home construction, making more money in real estate than he ever did in acting. There's an Ellison Drive in Beverly Hills named for him.
