T & Latouche

Out of the ashes of Edward II, one of the UK's most accomplished left field folk bands, comes T & Latouche featuring charismatic frontmen T Carthy and Glen Latouche , two of the original band members. The band also features Gavin Sharp (sax and keys) and John Hart (Guitar and trombone) both formerly of the classic Edward II line, and the heart and soul of the band. Together they have developed their roots sound bound by strong melody, sweet harmony, bubbling guitar and blistering brass hooks. After Edward II split up in November 1999, Alton Zebby (Edward II's drummer) emigrated to Ethiopia as part of the pre-millenium Rastafarian exodus. Glen also went to Africa but returned to The UK inspired and with a renewed desire to perform. After initial rehersals T & Latouche were born…… The debut album 'Tales from an urban safari' has a reggae sound shot through with flavours of other musical generes, notably Afrobeat, Arabic, Calypso and Ska. Imagine yourself walking down Claremont Road in Moss Side or Brixton and overhearing conversations whilst music drifts past.
