Bard, Author, Poet, Interpreter born and raised in Brittany. Born 25 june 1931 in Maël-Carhaix, Brittany, France. Died 18 june 1996 in Quimperlé, Brittany, France. He attended philosophy studies in Rennes. After years of travel through Mediteranean Sea & Russia where he started to write & compose, he established in Paris and started recitals in 1959. This is in Paris he took Glenmor as his artist name, releasing dozens of records with labels there. Befriended with Brel (the Brel's song «Le Moribond» is a message to Glenmor) , Ferré, he was also corresponding with his friend Xavier Grall, a Breton poet & writer. Grall with whom he found «Kelenn Editions» while getting back in Brittany in 1968. With Kelenn, they released books, poetry and helped young bretons artists of the seventies to rise up back the Breton culture (Gilles Servat, Alan Stivell, Tri Yann...). In 1990 he stopped his singer's career to focus on writing. Described on Wikipedia as a «Maverick», Glenmor created tough & engaged poetry. Breton language can be commonly tough, close to slang, and so Glenmor speaking french could be tough on his records. His goal has always been led by some reality of Brittany. A culture, language & music trashed out by the «republican» french way of mind as on song "La Mort De Lez-Breizh". With a «communeux»/anarchist way of mind his words on Brittany could have been misunderstood, wrongly resumed by others. His fight for Brittany culture was therefore unproperly used by minor politically engaged secessionist groups in a wrong way in the late 1970, early 1980's. He stayed an humble person, humanist, taking care of liberties, believer but against dogmatism.
