Dawny, former member of Jun Fan Gung Foo, together with Arnold, a bassist who also has experience in playing music and performing everywhere, agreed to form a band with the ska revival genre in 2005. Ska Revival was 60's era ska music which was popular in the era of the band Skatalites. from Jamaica. A ska band was formed with the name The Authentics, each of whose personnel consisted of: Dawny (vocal), Arnold (bass), Dani (blues-influenced guitarist ex-group Straight Out), Zenis (jazz saxophonist), Zendi (saxophone with jazz and soul – ex Jun Fan Gung Foo), Wally (jazz and reggae drummer ex Jun Fan Gung Foo), Ceky (keyboardist ex-group 7 Deadly Sins). The use of the name The Authentics itself appeared on the sidelines of rehearsals when the band was starting to form. The name is interpreted as the music they perform is authentic (exactly the same as in the 60s era), and highlights the characteristics of playing authentic music (original character) from each of the band's personnel, but is able to blend into each of their songs. At that time, the children of The Authentics started performing other people's songs, such as: The Skatalites, The Slackers, Hepcat, as well as other classic ska songs. In their musical journey, The Authentics experienced personnel changes, where in 2007 Zenis (saxophone) and Wally (drummer) resigned because each was busy with the world of work outside the band. For a while, an additional player was recruited, namely Fajar (Alexa drummer / Step Forward). When Fajar chose to leave because he was more focused on his band before joining The Authentics, Diaz (drummer for Maddening Pace) entered. In 2010 finally The Authentics released their first album titled "Thief Thief". The roots of this album are indeed very thick with ska, blues, swing and soul, but it is very easy to listen to with dance beats, so those who listen to it will dissolve with stomping feet. On December 17, 2010, the children of The Authentics were enveloped in a deep sorrow over the passing of their base, Dani (Rachmadian Ramdani). The deceased died as a result of having a traffic accident while riding a motorbike on December 13, 2010, around 24:00.
