Joe Wendel

Born May 15, 1937 and passed away on August 18, 2022. Joe was an educator, school administrator, musician / band leader, German radio program host, professional soccer sportscaster, soccer coach, and author. He came from Austria in 1952 and relocated to the Cleveland area with his parents, Hilda and Jakob and his brother Fred and his extended family. In 1955, Joe founded the Joe Wendel Orchestra. He was an expert accordion musician. In 1961, he started his 60 year run as the host of German radio programs.
